What can you update in your Aadhaar data?
- Demographic details in Aadhaar (Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Email Address, Relationship Status, Consent to share information, and Address) can be updated both offline and online. The Date of Birth (DOB) can be updated only once. Biometrics (Fingerprint, Iris, and Photo) – Residents will have to visit a permanent enrollment center. Children will need to get their biometrics updated at the age of 5 and 15 years.
- You can update your mobile number in your Aadhaar in two ways: by visiting an Aadhaar center or through your local postman. When linking your mobile number through the postman, your identity will be verified through biometrics (fingerprint).

Updating Online
- For online Aadhaar services, your mobile number must be registered.
- The self-service online mode allows residents to update their demographic information, where residents can update their details directly on the portal.

Residents can update the following online
- Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Address

You can update your profile in 3 easy steps.
To do this, you need to log in to the official website. The resident will be verified using an OTP sent to their registered mobile number. To complete the update process, the resident will need to upload supporting Proof of Address (POA) documents, which will later be verified by a verifier at the UIDAI update back-office against the requested data. The resident’s mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar to use this service.
Step 1: Log in with Aadhaar (Enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your mobile number linked to Aadhaar)
Step 2: Enter the data to be updated
Step 3: Upload documents (Required as proof of changes to the data – such as address proof/identity proof). (Note: File size should be less than 2 MB; file format should be JPEG, PNG, or PDF)
Step 4: Submit the request. |
What documents are required for online updates?
Residents need to upload self-attested photocopies of the relevant documents for updating or correcting their Aadhaar details. However, no documents are required for updating mobile numbers and email addresses. |
Offline Updates
Residents can update the following information offline
- Demographic Details: Name, address, date of birth/age, gender, mobile number, email address, marital status, and consent to share information.
- Note: Date of birth (DOB) can be corrected only once.
- Biometric Details: Fingerprints, iris scan, and photograph.
- Contact Information: Mobile number and email address.

How to update
- Update process: Citizens can visit the following centers with the necessary documents to update their details:
- Permanent Enrollment Centers: Update your details at any nearby Aadhaar enrollment center.
- Aadhaar Service Centers (ASK): Avail the service directly at special centers operated by UIDAI.

How To Apply Online
- Visit the link https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
- Enter your Aadhaar (UID) or Virtual ID (VID) and the Security code to generate a OTP to your registered mobile number.
- On entry of the OTP the details are shown.
- If the listed authentication transaction is not performed by the Aadhaar number holder, resident may contact the respective Authentication User Agency (AUA) for further details.
- For every authentication transaction performed by an Aadhaar number holder, UIDAI generates a unique code to identify the transactions and sends the same to Authentication User Agency (AUA) along with the response.

Service charges for data updation
- Mandatory Biometric Update (05 to <07 years and 15 to <17 years)) – FREE
- Mandatory Biometric Update (07 to 15 years & more than 17 years) – Rs 100
- Other Biometric Update (with or without Demographic updates) – Rs 100
- Demographic update (update of one or more fields) in online mode or at Aadhaar Enrolment Centre using ECMP/UCL /CELC – Rs. 50/- (Inclusive of GST)
- PoA/ PoI Document Update at Aadhaar Enrolment Centre – Rs 50
- PoA/ PoI Document Update through SSUP (myAadhaar) Portal – Rs 25
- Aadhaar Search using eKYC/ Find Aadhaar/ any other tool and colour print out on A4 Sheet – Rs.30/- per Aadhaar (Inclusive of GST)
- Home Enrolment Service as per OM No. HQ-16024/4/2020-EU-IHQ-Part (1) dated 05.04.2023.- Rs 700. If the service is availed by more than one resident at the same address (as per Aadhaar), Rs 700/- service charge (including GST) will be charged for first resident and @ Rs 350/- (including GST) for each additional resident. The service charges for Home Enrolment Service will be charged in addition to the normal fee applicable for demographic /biometric update in Aadhaar.
- Update of more than one field on a single instance is considered as one update.
- These charges are inclusive of any applicable taxes.
- The residents can make online payment at the time of booking an online appointment from the UIDAI website or at the ‘Cash Counter’ available at the ASK.
